MacLeod The Middling Spree

This beer is one to satiate beer drinkers and beer history folks alike. It was derived from an 1896 recipe from a now defunct brewery in Dorset, England. Despite being a very popular style for a time the full story of "AK" was unfortunately lost. The short story is, no one knows what "AK" stands for with any accuracy and it is a pale ale in the literal sense. A heavy hand with English hops, lots of invert sugar, flaked maize, and pilsner malt may seem unusual to most, but that blend was more common than you'd think, and creates a flavor profile rarely seen in modern beers.
