Avery White Rascal
Witbier     5.5%
Avery Brewing, Boulder, CO

A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or “white” ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that’s yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curaçao orange peel producing a refreshingly zesty classic ale. Food pairing: Spicy Thai or Mexican dishes provide a level of heat and spiciness required to balance the semi-sweet, citrus flavors found in White Rascal. Our favorites are pad thai, green curry, blackened codfish and ceviche.

Ballast Point Sculpin IPA
American IPA     7.0%
Ballast Point Brewing Company, San Diego, CA

The Sculpin is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. It showcases bright flavors and aromas of apricot, peach, mango & lemon. The lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup 2010 in the International Pale Ale category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the tastiest. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.

Ballast Point Victory at Sea
Robust Porter     10.0%
Ballast Point Brewing Company, San Diego, CA

Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

Boddingtons Pub Ale (nitro)
Standard/Ordinary Bitter     4.7%
Boddingtons, Manchester, England

Low gravity, low alcohol levels and low carbonation make this an easy-drinking beer. Some examples can be more malt balanced, but this should not override the overall bitter impression. Drinkability is a critical component of the style; emphasis is still on the bittering hop addition as opposed to the aggressive middle and late hopping seen in American ales.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Milton, DE

A harmonious marriage of fruit and beer. The key attributes of the underlying style will be different with the addition of fruit; do not expect the base beer to taste the same as the unadulterated version. Judge the beer based on the pleasantness and balance of the resulting combination.

Dogfish Head Positive Contact
Witbier     9.0%
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Milton, DE

An ale brewed with apple cider and spiced. A positive combination of Fuji cider, slow-roasted farro, a bit of cayenne and fresh cilantro. This beer part of our Music Series of beers... this one is an amalgamation of hip-hop, beer, cider and a DIY culinary experience! Sam and Dan the Automator of Deltron 3030 teamed up to create Positive Contact, based on Dan's favorite ingredients and Dogfish Head's innovative brewing practices. Named after a key track on the first album, Positive Contact is a 9% ABV hybrid of beer and cider brewed with wood-pressed Fuji apples, roasted farro, a handful of cayenne peppers and a late dose of fresh cilantro. This sweet-and-sour Belgian-ish brew is a light straw color with fruity, cider-like notes. The cayenne and alcohol give it a warming finish. For the inaugural release (2012), the beer was packaged in a dynamic box set of six 750-ml champagne bottles, with a 10-inch vinyl EP of four new Deltron 3030 remixes created exclusively for this project, and a list of Deltron 3030-inspired recipes from a small group of renowned chefs. Subsequent releases did not include the vinyl or recipes.

Port Mongo
Imperial IPA     8.5%
Port Brewing Company, San Marcos, CA

Like most double IPA-style beers, the taste of hops that linger for days is at work in this beer. We like the way hops weave in and out of what little malt you can taste. Certainly, we brewed this as a hop-forward beer and think that after one sip you’ll agree with us.

White grape with mango, nectarine, gooseberry, and lightly spicy grapefruit. The fruit is mouthwatering and juicy. Apparently blending Nelson and Citra makes for an awesome flavor.
