Sea Rocket Bistro in North Park is a small place doing big things. With an emphasis on all things local, Sea Rocket Bistro has an interesting and varied menu, including raw fresh sea urchin served in its spiky shell. The “eat local” philosophy also extends to the beer selection: the 13 beers on their bottle list, four on tap, and one hand cask all come from San Diego County breweries. Pairing suggestions are made on the menu, or tasters and flights are available if you want to take the matter into your own hands. Happy Hour offers $3 selected drafts and $4 tacos from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. every night except Tuesday, and for good reason: Tuesday is dollar oyster night. With participation in the monthly 30th on 30th, Drinkabout, and The SD Bike Commuter Discount Program, Sea Rocket Bistro goes beyond “eating local” to creating a community.

Naming beers may be the hardest thing about brewing. There is just so much pressure to come up with something clever, witty, meaningful, etc. This time around we just kept it simple. We found a picture of a hot chick from the 40′s, and it inspired us. With that…we introduce Pin-Up Pale. Bittered with Summit, and dry hopped with Citra and Chinook, it’s herbal hop aroma and San Diego-style bitterness push the Pale AleÃÂ boundaries. A simple malt bill of pale 2-Row, North American and German crystal, flaked wheat, and dextrine keep it hop forward yet malty balanced.
American IPA 7.0%
Port Brewing Company, San Marcos, CA
Welcome to the waters of Wipeout IPA, a massively hopped India Pale Ale with enough substance and body to overcome even the worst and most tragic of on the water spills. We brew Wipeout IPA for everyone- especially those hardy souls who brave the cold winter water and monster sets produced by an amazing northwest swell. Only a tidal wave of hops can overcome the surging tide of malt that is required to produce a beer of this shape. We invite you to drop in, hang on and kick out the backside. That is, unless you enjoy wiping out and all the glory that goes with it.

White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.
